Kent Indoor Track & Field Champs. – Sunday 26th February

Mason Doyle from Paddock Wood A.C became Kent indoor U/17 Triple Jump Champion on Sunday at Lee Valley with a distance of 10.97m. Mason who is in his first year as a U/17, competed in his first Indoor Championships. He also won a Bronze medal in the Long Jump 5.17m. In the same age groups another first year U/17 Joseph Holland ran in the 400m finishing 3rd in the 2nd heat (59.18s). U/17 Georgia McCall in her first ever competition for the club, competed in the 60m Hurdles. Georgia hopes to eventually enter Heptathlons. Unfortunately Georgia hit the second hurdle which interrupted her stride and she fell at the 3rd Hurdle, but she bravely picked herself up and finished in (12.91s). She also ran the 60m finishing 5th in her heat (8.97s). Veteran Mark Woods ran in the Senior Men’s 60m competing against competitors 30 years his junior. He finished a credible 5th in his heat (8.14s). U/20Rob Leat ran an excellent 800m to finish 2nd and claim the Silver Medal (2m.24.12s) |
