Kent Masters XC Championships, Central Park, Dartford – Report – 2nd December 2017

A fairly chilly morning with the sun burning its way through saw 13 athletes compete across three age categories in three separate races.  4K for the women and M60’s and Just shy of 10K for everyone else.

M50 category were the first to set off their race, with David Sampson (36:01, 31st), Trevor Crysell (39:40, 58th) and Paul Graves (42:38, 78th) completing the 3 to score team finishing 15th overall, just 2 points behind Dartford Road Runners.

Despite not being able to form a team a small number of ladies made their mark over their 4K course with Tina Oldershaw finishing in 17:50 (2nd), Fiona Buckingham in 22:50 (34th) and Vanessa Markham putting in a valiant effort after her marathon last week in 23:47 (41st).

The M60 men took part in the same race as the women with a team consisting of John Tolhurst (20:37, 19th), closely followed by Kim Stanley (20:48, 20th) and a strong willed Les Percival (22:36, 38th)

The men were out in force today with another team in the final race for M40’s covering their 10K course with Robert Everitt taking the lead in 35:35 (53rd), Steve Wright closely behind in 35:41 (55th), Peter Buckingham finishing strong in 37:03 (61st) and Mark Wild in 37:50 (68th) completing the 4 to score criteria putting them in 12th position overall.

Thank you to everyone who attended, your support is much appreciated.

Happy running folks!
