Sunday 25th October saw Knole Park, Sevenoaks a lovely setting for this season’s first Kent Fitness League cross country race and the park was made to look even more glorious with the beautiful sunny weather.
A huge thank you must go to all those that turned up both runners and supporters, especially those that had competed for the club the previous day.
Five junior members and 23 adult members represented the club.
In the U11Boys race Dillon Drew finished in 9th place, in the U13Boys race Evan Wild finished 4th and Benjamin Barrett finished in 6th place. The U17Boys race was won by Charles George closely followed by Luke Reeves. For the full results please see our website.
In the main race 1st home for the club was Colin Tricker in 6th Place followed by James Ridger 16th and Wayne Balmer 17th Martin Taylor 38th and Steven Chivers 98th.
Maria Heslop was our first lady home 32nd overall, who unfortunately had to run as a guest due to her elite status. This meant Tina Oldershaw back after injury was first scoring lady home followed by Claire Day and Sarah Sheppard.
There were also excellent performances also from Tim Terry and Helen Hardware who competed in this league for the first time. The ever improving Keely Hoad knocked nearly 12 minutes off last years’ time.
The combined result meant we finished in 9th place with the ladies winning their section.
Obviously we cannot mention everyone but well done to you all!
Emma Hollands, Stella Beard, Wayne Balmer and Martin Taylor also won raffle prizes.
The club results can be seen on our website with the full results available on the KFL website klf.canterburtharriers.org.
Finally it was lovely to see Baby Finley Ridger out supporting his father even though he is only two weeks old!!
The next race is at Swanley Park Swanley on Sunday 8th November (Remembrance Sunday) Please do not forget to wear your poppy
