KFL Update – Report – 18th January 2020

Paddock Wood AC (PWAC) has just competed in the 4th and 5th rounds of the Kent Fitness League with good turn outs and some very fine performances. At Shorne Country Park 2 weeks ago a new race venue for the league PWAC had 26 runners out representing the club over a demanding course. First home for the club was Harry Young who finished in 10th place. Adam Tibbals and James Ridger raced hard to the finish line and ended 15th and 16th respectively. First lady home for the club was Mandy Barker followed by Kate Cole. Ellie Parks made her debut in the league as well as in a PWAC vest and finished tired but still smiling.

PWAC’S combined team finished 4th on the day with the ladies finishing 10th and the men 2nd.

We travelled a little further afield last weekend to a very windy but at least dry for a change Minnis Bay Birchington where PWAC had another 26 runners competing.

Harry Young was once again first home for the club with a storming run to finish in 3rd place. Adam Tibbals and James Ridger were once again the next home for the club in 16th and 18th respectively. Mandy and Kate were the first 2 ladies home for the club.

A number of the clubs runners braved the rather cold North Sea to wash off the mud.

PWAC finished 3rd combined team, the ladies moved up a place finishing in 9th place and the men carried on their fine form finishing 2nd.

With only one match remaining the PWAC Combined men’s and ladies team sit in 3rd place behind Medway and Maidstone AC who have already won the league for this season and Sevenoaks AC who are 2nd. In the female standings PWAC ladies team are currently 6th with the men 2nd, so still a lot riding on the last match at Canterbury on February 9th. Well done everybody who has helped put Team PWAC in this fantastic position.
