The Maidstone Riverside Run is an 8.6km trail run from Wateringbury to Lockmeadow, Maidstone, alongside the River Medway. This was the fourth annual event and around £5000 has been raised for Cancer Research UK by competitors. The race usually begins with a train journey to the start but this year there were replacement buses due to engineering works! Any disappointment was soon forgotten as a beneficial tailwind helped Niall Stewart (Loughborough Students) to a course record 29min 49sec. The women’s course record is held by Paddock Wood’s W45 Tina Oldershaw with 33min 01sec set in 2012.
