Paddock Wood AC Press Report W/E 28th Jan

Paddock Wood AC’s U/11 Sportshall teams were in fine form at the Swanley round of the Kent Sportshall meetings. Team 1 slightly different to the team that won at the Championships in December won the overall event with Paddock Wood 2 finishing in 3rd place taking the Bronze medals. In the Standing triple Jump, Joe Stone won the event with 5.60m and partner Lucy Talon was 3rd with 5.34m. Hayden Phillips from team 2 was 4th with 5.35m and Oliver Ebsworth 7th with 5.23m. In the Speed Bounce, the only 2 members in team 3, had good results being the top pair with Ami Cooper jumping 54 bounces and Erin Clark finishing 3rd with 52. Lucy Talon came 2nd with 53 bounces. Oliver Ebsworth and Hayden Phillips both jumped 49. Ollie Jury threw 5.75 in the Overhead ball throw. Grace Hughes finished 2nd in the same event7.25m, partner Liam O’Neil threw 6.00m. Grace  did 45cm in the Vertical Jump, Chloe Exall in  team 2 also did well jumping 40cm, and team 3 Ami Cooper getting 41cm and Erin Clark 40cm. Despite them only able to do 2 events because they did not have 4 athletes for the relays, they were not last overall, as the events they did do, earned them top places.

The club had 5 U13 boys competing, they had to do Shot, Standing Long Jump, Vertical jump, Speed Bounce and a 4 lap race. Alex Gray finished 5th overall with 637 points just beating Harvey Fordham who finished 2 points behind him. Alex Stone was next in 10th place, Mathew Brown 16th and Aiden O’Neil. 17th.

Alex Gray got PBs in 4 of his events. 45cm in the Vertical Jump, 5.98m in the Shot, 2.01m in the Standing Long Jump and 62 in the Speed Bounce. Harvey was well down on his Long Jump and Vertical Jump but got PBs in his Shot 5.17m and his Speed Bounce 64. Alex Stone also got PBs in the Vertical Jump 43cm and the Speed Bounce 75 bounces. Mathew Brown achieved a PB in his Shot and Aiden managed a PB in the Speed Bounce with 17 more bounces than his last competition totalling 54. In the U/13 girls, Charlotte Whiffin was 8th gaining a PB in her Speed Bounce 76 bounces. Keira Sutherland came 11th with a PB in the Shot Putt 5.26m and the Speed bounce 70. Poppy Jury claimed 3 PBs in the Shot, Long Jump and Speed Bounce. In the U/15 girls, Lilly Ebsworth came 2nd claiming a team medal in a combined team with Medway & Maidstone. U/17 Fin Hollyer took the overall Gold Medal.
