It was a busy weekend for Paddock Wood AC athletes with the juniors competing Saturday and U17s plus competing on Sunday. On Saturday the juniors were at Mile End for the 3rd match in the LYDL league. U 13 Lucas Whittle was competing in his first track and field event. He ran the 75m coming 2nd B string 11.5s, the 150m 24.4s and the long jump finishing 2nd 3.57m in the B string. In the U13 girls Kathleen Knight Misson claimed 3 2nd places. In the 150m 21.6s, the long jump 4.11m and the shot 7.45m. She was joined in the shot by Jessica Patterson who claimed a PB 4.22m.Jesssica also did the javelin 9.78m and the 800m 3m 23.6s. A PB Ellen Simmons jumped a PB in the long jump 3.18m did the 70m hurdles 15.1s another PB. Ran the 75m 11.8s. Abi Seal ran a PB in her 75m 11.0s. All 4 girls ran the 4 x100m relay 62.4s. Abigail Palmer was the only U15 girl competing for the club. She threw the hammer 16.67m a PB, the javelin 14.80m and jumped another PB in the long jump 3.39m. U 15 boy Nathen Palmer ran a PB in his 100m 15.1s, threw the javelin 12.80m and the shot 6.11m a PB.
On Saturday Paddock Wood AC/ Folkestone RC combined with Swale to host the 3rd match in the Southern Athletics league Kent Division at the Julie Rose Stadium Ashford. Unfortunately just as the competition began it started to rain which continued for much of the day, but luckily did not affect performances too much. In the first event the hammer W40 Elizabeth Bignell came 2nd with 25. 50m a SB. W 60 Teresa Hinton won the B string 18.15m. Elizabeth won the B triple jump 6.90m just 1 cm of her PB. She also won the pole vault cam 2nd in the B javelin and 2nd in the B discus. Teresa then went off to her duties as a starter marksman. U 17 Harriet Court won the javelin 4142m throwing a 600g javelin, 41.42m a PB. Harriet won the B 200m 28.51s and ran a non-scoring 100m 16.37s. U17 Molly Rein won the triple jump 8.85m a PB she won the B 100m 14.53s.In the men’s competitor Alex Hookway won the pole-vault with 3.70m he won the shot 11.85m, the discus 31.78m and the 110mH 20.41s. Ian Crawley won the B pole-vault 3.20m equalling his PB despite the wet conditions and was 2nd in the B shot 8.33m. Harvey Fordham won his high jump only clearing enough to win in the rain 1.65m, Jason Davis wining the B string 1.50m.Harvey won the B discus 25.21m and the long jump 5.15m. Jason came 2nd in the A event 5.54m, he ran the 100m12.18s and the 300m 25.03s.Alex Stone won the javelin 37.86m also the triple jump 12.28m with M55 Trevor Crysell taking the B string 8.53m. Trevor ran the B 1500m 6m 14m73s,M50 Robert Bowie ran the A 5m 43.27s, Robert also ran the 3000m 12m 14.10s and he won the B 800m 2m 38.95s.M70 David Perman threw the much heavier weight for his age group with a throw of 11.09m to gain extra points. Despite all the efforts of the team Central Park Athletics beat Paddock Wood AC/ Folkestone by 1 point
