PWAC Press Report – 14th August 2023

The last match in the Kent Young Athletes league took place at Central Park Dartford on Saturday. With the sun was shining but blustery wind for this last meeting for a change no rain. There were some good results for Paddock Wood AC. In the U13 girls there was a double win in the shot with Lucy Burrows –Cloude wining the A string 6.57m and Abi Seal taking the B string 6.19m her first time in this event. Lucy threw a PB in her javelin 14.65m and ran the 100m 11.4s. Abi Seal ran the A 100m 11.1s and jumped a PB in the long jump 3.67m. Ellen Simmons joined Abi in the long jump also jumping a PB 3.21m, she claimed a second PB in the 70m hurdles 14.8s and she completed a hat trick with another PB in the 150m 24.0s. In the U15 girls Abigail Palmer was another athlete to score PBs. She ran the 100m 15.7s and threw the javelin 16.59m both PBs, she jumped 3.56m in the long jump. Megan Rein joined Abi in these events she equalled her PB in the 75mH 16.5s, ran the 100m 15.0s and jumped 3.64m in the long jump. U15 boy Thiago Marinez won his 100m 12.9s and came 2nd in the shot with a PB 8.07m but had to pull out of the long jump due to injury. Nathan Palmer won his hammer 15.21m his first time in this event he won the B shot 6.42m a PB and ran 100m 15.6s. William Hirst out for the first time this season  jumped a PB in his high jump 1.45m jumped a another PB in the long jump 4.45m and ran the 800m  2m 33.4s. In the U13 boys Jonah Fernandes jumped a PB in the long jump 3.70m ran the 200m 32.3s and ran the non-scoring 100m 15.0s. Max Rein won the B long jump 3.66m, ran the 100m 16.3s and competed in the 1K walk for the first time finishing 3rd in 7m 12.7s. Lucas Whittle ran the 100m 15.6s he jumped 3,31m in the long jump and ran an 800m 2m 52.7s his first ever 800m. The team finished 4th on the day and 5th overall for the season.
