Paddock Wood AC athletes were at a very hot Medway Park Gillingham for the last of the seasons Southern Athletics league on Saturday. Despite depleted teams in both the men’s and women’s teams there were some good results. With a win for U20 Harvey Fordham in the high jump 1.88m and Alex Gray in the triple jump 12.89m. Harvey was 2nd in the B javelin 30.37m and the discus 31.63m. Alex was 2nd in his long jump 6.10m. Alex Stone threw a PB in his javelin 40.89m for 2nd place he also claimed 2nd in the B discus 26.76m. He jumped 5.53m in a non-scoring long jump. All three U20s were throwing the senior weight. Also U20 Jason Davis won the B long jump with a PB 6.08m. He ran the 100m 11.76s and the 200m 24.00s. M70 David Perman covered the hammer and the shot to help the team with some extra points the oldest competitor there. There were just 3 ladies in the women’s team covering 16 events between them. U17 Molly Rein 3 events Teresa Hinton 6 events and Elizabeth Bignell 7 events. Molly ran the 100m 13.93s just outside her PB, she jumped 4.15m in the long jump and came 2nd in her triple jump 8.62m. She was joined by W40 Elizabeth Bignell in the triple jump 2nd B 6.65m Elizabeth won the pole vault, came 3rd in the hammer 24.50m, 6.64m in the shot, 14.64m in the discus, jumped 1m in the high jump just to get a point, and did the javelin a well below par throw, throwing a new javelin after her other one got damaged. W60 Teresa Hinton won the B shot 6.42m, claimed 2nd in the B hammer 19.07m she jumped 1.13m in the high jump, 2.92m in the long jump, threw the discus 12.98m and competed in the B javelin.
