PWAC Press Report – 19th July 2021

Saturday saw Paddock Wood AC juniors competing in the 2nd of the LYDL at Erith. Everyone who competed came away with at least one PBs, some with two. Highlight of the day was U13 Olly Keating in his first ever competition for the club and his first high jump competition jumped 1.30m to claim 2nd place. Another first for Olly was the 75m hurdles where he ran 15.9s, he also did 75m 12.00s. Alfred Everitt knocked nearly 3 seconds off his previous 800m to run a PB 2m.28.1s. He was disappointed with this javelin throw 22.73m. Alfred also covered the shot put for the first time for extra points 5.65m.Philip Dagostin ran a PB in the 1500m 24.1s and jumped 3.56 in the long jump just 3cm of his PB. In the U13 girls Megan Rein ran PBs in both her 70mH 16.0s and her 75m 11.3s. She equalled her best in the high jump1.10m. Tilly Ryan jumped a PB in her long jump 3.44m ran another in the 75m 12.00s and threw 11.66m in the javelin yet another PB. In the U15 girls Molly Rein ran 14.2s in her 100m a PB jumped a PB in the long jump 3.65m and ran the 75mH for the first time 16.3s. Another star of the day was Aaron Brown who knocked an impressive 14seconds off his PB in the 800m 2m20.6s. Aaron threw the javelin for the first time in competition since September 2019 26.91m Aaron ran the 80mH 13.8s.

New member Iain Campbell took part in the Maverick Adidas Terrex Original Bucks 22 Km race on Sunday, nestled in the heart of England the Maverick Buckinghamshire Original really delivers on all levels. You will find yourself winding through ancient woodland, steeped in history with incredible views over the surrounding Chiltern Hills AONB. In extremely hot conditions Ian completed the trail course in 2h 10m 57s, 38th man home and placing 5th in his M 40 age category.
