Paddock Wood AC athletes travelled to Hastings for the last in the Southern Athletics league matches. Again, only a small number took part due to holidays but there were some good results. In the ladies match U17 Samantha Hockey started the day off well winning the 100m equalling her PB (13.4s). She jumped a PB in the Long Jump 4.45m missing out on 1st place by 1cm and ran 28.5s to come 2nd in the 200m. She was joined by Jasmine Etheridge who made it a clean sweep in the 100m winning the B race (14.2s). Jasmine also won the B Long Jump 4.10m. She claimed a good 2nd in the High Jump 1.30m. W35 Elise Rendall claimed a PB in both her Discus finishing 3rd 15.30m and the B Javelin 2nd 19.80m. Elise also ran the 3000m coming 2nd (12m 15.7s). Team manager Elizabeth Duffin came 2nd in the Javelin 23.47m, 3rd in the Hammer 22.96 and 2nd in the B discus 14.37m. Both ladies covered the Shot. For the first time this season the ladies managed to form a 4x100m relay team with excellent results coming 1st thanks to the 2 teenagers (60.6s).

In the men’s team U17 Fin Hollyer won the Long Jump 5.15m, came 2nd in the Triple Jump 10.40m and ran a PB in the 200m fishing 2nd (26.2s). M60 Dave Perman, recovering from a knee operation, helped the club by earning valuable points by competing in the Shot and Hammer. U17 newcomer Harry Avramides competed in the Javelin for the first time throwing a senior 800gr Javelin came 2nd with 25.95m. The club finished 3rd on the day with the highest number of total points for the season.
