PWAC Press Report – 22nd May 2023

Last Saturday Paddock Wood AC athletes were at Central Park Dartford in the first match of the season of the Southern Athletics league. In a composite team with Folkestone RC they did exceptionally well. Finishing 3^rd just 11 points behind Thanet. U 17 Harriet Court and W40 Elizabeth Bignell had 3 wins each and Alex Stone in the men’s match also achieving 3 wins. Harriet won the javelin throwing the 600gr javelin for the first time 41.13m a metre further than her best throw with the 500gr one, a new CR. Elizabeth won the B string with 20.46. Harriet went on to win the shot, again with a heavier weight 9.22 with Elizabeth wining the B string 6.49m. Elizabeth won the hammer with 24.16m and Harriet won the B 200m 29.4s. In the men’s team U20 Alex Stone won the triple jump 12.12m, the B long jump 5.57m and the javelin 40.31m.U23  Jason Davis won the A long jump 5.71m ran the 100m 11.7s and the 200m 23.7s.   M60 Ian Crawley won the B pole-vault with a CR of 3.20m. He was 2^nd in his 200m B string 29.2, he claimed another CR in the high jump 1.45m and a 3^rd in the discus throwing the senior weight 25.58m. he ran the 100m B race 14.9s.
