Paddock Wood Ac athletes were at various venues around the country at the weekend. Furthest afield were two juniors athletes who had qualified for the U20/U17/U15 National Champs in Sheffield.
U15 Joe Stone in his first year as an U15 ran a PB in his 60m 8.02s and ran another in the 60mH 9.57s. Majority of the boys in these races were 2nd year athletes U17 Alex Gray competed in the triple jump jumping 12.22m again 12 out of the 15 competing were 2nd year athletes.
At Lee Valley it was the British Masters Championship.3 of our athletes were competing. M55 Mark Woods took part in the British Masters pentathlon finishing 4th with a PB score of 2378 points. Also a club record. Mark ran a PB in the 1000m 4m.09.06, Jumped 1.35 in the high jump, 4.18 in the long jump, ran 12.50 in the hurdles 12.59 a PB and putt the shot 8.91m. In the main masters Championship W55 Teresa Hinton ran a PB in the 60m hurdles 12.31s a club record, claimed another PB and a new club record in the shot 7.52m this put her 4th in the UK rankings and jumped 3.22m in the long jump. M65 les Percival ran the 200m 30.58s.
Michael Gibbs was the clubs only runner in the Brighton Half marathon coming in 179th 1hr 27m 19s.Ian Sutherland and Darren Hendley were pacing, Ian at Hampton Court half marathon and Darren at the Wokingham Half.
