Becky Morrish from Paddock Wood AC was the first lady home in the Tonbridge 10K on Sunday in a time of 39.51m 11th overall. David Sampson claimed the 1ts Vet 60 award 42.11m 14th overall. Mark Horne came 25th 46.07m
The previous day it was the Kent Cross Country League at Somerhill hosted by Tonbridge AC.
U11 Max Rein ran in the U11s mile race in 7.45m. In the U13 boys 3000m race Alfred Everitt came 18th in 12.57m and William Hirst ran 13.40m. Megan rein ran the U13 girls 3000m 13.52m. In the senior men’s 8000m race 21 year old Charles George was 35th 29.47m. M45 Rob Everitt ran the course in 34.61m and M50 Steve Wright ran 34.39m.
The previous weekend it was the first in the Kent league meetings of the season held at Swanley. U13 Alfred Everitt ran 3100m in 12.57m. In the U13 girls Megan Rein ran the same course in 15.50m. U15 Harriet Court ran 3910m in 20.43m. In the senior men’s race Rob Everitt ran 34.49m and Steve Wright ran 36.13m.
Also on Sunday last weekend Becky Morrish and Nathan Chapman took time out of their holiday schedule to race the Weston Super Mare Half Marathon, which included a section of the sandy beach. That little obstacle didn’t stop Becky being 1st female to cross the line and 22nd overall in a time of 1:25:52. Nathan was 23rd home with a time of 1:25:53. At the same time nearer to home, Ian Sutherland was honing his cross country legs at the Titsey Trail 10k race. Despite not feeling too well in the race, he managed a 12th place finish in 43:40.
