PWAC Press Report – 8th August 2022

Paddock Wood AC were at the last of the seasons Kent Young Athletes league meetings on Saturday at Tonbridge. It was slightly depleted team due to holidays. But for those that did compete there were some good results. U13 Kathleen Knight Misson had two wins. In her long jump she jumped 4.17m and a PB in her shot 7.05m, she also ran the 75m 11.4s. She was joined by Alathaea Jenkins in the long jump  where she won the B string 3.50m.Alathaea tried her hand at high jump for the first time and jumped 1.15m, she also did the 70m hurdles 16.3s. In the U13 boys Nathan Palmer came 3rd in the shot 5.50m, he ran 15.9s for his 100m and threw the javelin 11.78m. Luke Antoun came 2nd in the B shot 5.24m, he jumped 3.39m in the long jump and ran the 200m 31.5s. Max Rein jumped 3.54m in his long jump and ran 15.9s in his 100m. Sister Megan competed in the U15 girls 100m 15.2s, the 75m hurdles 16.6s and the long jump 3.47m.

On Sunday again a depleted Paddock Wood AC team with an Invicta and Thanet composite team were at the last Youth Development League match at Crawley.U20 Alex Stone won the B long jump 5.41m he came 2nd in the shot 10.13m and 3rd in the javelin 38.51m. Harvey Fordham won the B shot 10.03m and the B javelin 33.20m and had to settle for 2nd in the high jump with 1.80m. Jason Davis ran the 100m 11.4s, the 200m 23.80m and jumped 5.86m in the long jump. Fordham, Stone, Davis and an athlete from Invicta ran the 4 x 100m relay to claim a 2nd place.

The previous weekend it was the last of the younger section of the YDL U 13 Nathan Palmer competed in the shot put 5.87m the 75m 11.7s and the javelin 13.13m. New comer U13 Lucy Burrows- Cloude ran the 150m 23.6s and jumped 2.43m in the long jump but hurt her ankle and had to pull out of the javelin.
