PWAC Press Report – Masters, Multi Events and U/13 County Champs – 13th September 2016

Last weekend saw several athletes from Paddock Wood AC take part in the County Masters Champs and U/13 Championship at the Erith track Bexley. The club came away with 6 county championships.

M60 Les Percival in the 100m ran a Championship Best Performance to win his event in (13.68s). He went on to win Gold in the 400m (66.07s). Also in the M60 Dave Perman became Kent Champion the Hammer 18.67m. David has only just started competing again after retirement. In the M70 category 76-year-old Mick Duffin became the Masters County Champion in the Javelin 22.67m, then won Bronze in the Hammer 23.16m and came 2nd in the Discus 17.01m. Daughter Elizabeth Duffin, in the W35 events, won the Javelin 21.62m, also to become County Champion and won the Discus as well. She was 3rd in the Hammer, all throws well below her best due to a back injury. W40 Kate Maryon won Bronze in her 100m (15.15s) and Silver in the Long Jump 4.14m.

In the U/13s Harvey Fordham came 5th in his Long Jump 4.46m and was 6th in his 100m heat (14.64s). Alex Stone ran (16.22s) in his heat of the 100m, then Jumped 3.73m in the Long Jump and threw  5.04m in the Shot Putt. Grace King just competed in the 75m coming 4th in her heat (11.36s) just missing out on the final by 2 places.
