PWAC Press Report – Masters, U15 & U13 Kent Championships – 2018

The weekend before last saw the Masters and U13 Kent County Championships at Erith. With the rain coming earlier than anticipated it made for a horrible damp and cold day. In the U13 Champs Jessica Penny won her 70m H heat (12.39s) qualifying her for the final. In the final she won the silver medal (12.19s) just 100th off gold. Jess Rayner ran a PB in the 1200m (4m 32.05s) coming 5th. Sister Izzy competed in the javelin in horrendous conditions finishing in 7th place. Joe Stone won his 100m heat (13.90s) and came 5th in the semi-final in the exact same time. Joe just missed out on a medal in the long jump coming 4th 4.29m. Jacob Kemmit ran the 800m (3m00.10s). Due to the inclement weather the next day of the Championships had to be cancelled.

In the Masters’ champs M55 Mark Woods won two gold medals the 100mH (20.66s) and the 200m (26.41s). Trevor Crysell ran in the same race finishing 4th (28.38s) a PB.  M65 Les Percival won gold in his 200m race (29.19s). W50 Nicola Whiffen won a silver in the hammer with a PB throw of 26.47m and came 3rd in the shot. W35 Elizabeth Duffin competed in the hammer 22.85m, the javelin 21.56m, the discus 14.92 and the shot. She finished 2nd in the hammer and javelin and 3rd in the shot and discus.
