Last night saw the 6th and final 5k Summer series events come to a close with 6 competitors braving the darkened evening. Overall there has been 25 athletes compete with 5 members attending more than 4 events. Last night there was another 4 PB’s achieved so well done to them for pushing themselves harder.
Once again we were pleased to see all 6 of you on the track at the same time on the final 400mm. Driving (not literally) to victory this week was Trevor Crysell in 1st place with a time of 21:30 (34:21), closely followed by 2nd place Stephen large with a time of 22:32 (34:30) and taking the 3rd place on the podium was Paul Graves with a time of 23:43 (34:39).
After 6 events and calculating your best 4 scores I am please to announce the winner of the Male category goes to the continued improving Les Stone scoring 45 points. The winner of the female category goes to Emma Hollands scoring 43 points. Our 3rd place contender cannot be unnamed after such a resilient effort throughout the whole series and that goes to Kirsty Jones scoring 42 points.
May I take this opportunity again to thank all the marshals who helped out this week, Richard Elliott, Sam Parrett, Nick Brown, Becky Morrish and last but by no means least Diana Tilston. Thank you to everyone for taking part and supporting the series. Thank you to those who have helped out throughout, it has been a pleasure to organise. Observing many of you battle your demons over such a challenging course has certainly been a highlight, I hope you have all come away from this series feeling some form of benefit one way or another.
Until next time, happy running folks!
