Last Saturday it was the first in the lower Youth Development league matches of the season, held at Sutcliffe Park Eltham. All teams were a bit depleted due to the school half term. Again in a composite team with Folkestone RC there were some good performances. One of the highlights of the day was U13 Noah Arthur in his first ever track race won the non-scoring 75m race 10.75s, breaking the existing club record. He went onto come 2nd in the B string long jump 3.73m. Alfred Everitt in his first javelin competition finished 2nd 26.03m then ran the 1200m 3m: 59:0s. Philip Dagostin ran the B 75m race in 12.03s and stepped up to do the javelin for the first time threw 17.44m. Philip, Arthur, Noah, and a lad from Folkestone ran the 4 X100m relay. U13 Tilly Ryan came 2nd in the long jump 3.30m a PB, ran 12.22s another PB in her 75m and to help get some extra points threw the javelin 11.41m her first javelin competition. Another newbie to competition was U15 Harriet Court. She ran an excellent 300m 47.95s plus a non-scoring 100m15.00s, she joined 3 Folkestone girls for the 4 x100m relay. The previous Tuesday V60 Mark Woods competed in the Tonbridge AC open meeting at their track. He won his heat in a season’s best time 13.10s breaking another club record which has stood for 12 years. Kim Stanley ran in the Tenterden 10K race on Sunday, the route used the country lanes plus a lap of Biddenden Vineyards. Kim came home in 33rd place 2nd V60 50:52.
