This year both the male and female teams at PWAC are in Division Two. Due to covid it’s been two years since the vets raced so everyone was keen to race again.
Injuries and work commitments meant the male team consisted of Mark Woods, Trevor Simms, David Perman and Trevor Crysell. The women’s team was the mighty Teresa Hinton.
The evening started well with the 100m and wins for Mark Woods in the V60 with a time of 13.5 secs. Also a win for Trevor Simms in the V50 with a time of 14.4 secs and finally a third place for Trevor Crysell in the V35 with a time of 15.3 secs.
Mark Woods also competed in the pole vault winning in the V50 with a height of 1.80m a new club record.
Next up for the Men was discus and again two wins for Trevor Crysell in the V50 with throw of 19.16m and Mark Woods in the V35 with a throw of 21.38m, both seasons bests. David Perman came fourth in the V60 with a throw of 11.81m
Whilst the Gents were throwing a discus, Teresa Hinton was competing in the shot and High Jump at the same time winning both events with a jump of 1.05m and throwing the shot 7.24m. The shot is also a new club record.
Finally with no distance runners available it was down to the two Trev’s, Simms and Crysell to jog round 1500m to get those extra points. Trevor Simms finishing fourth in the V35 with a time of 6.51.7 and Trevor Crysell finishing fourth in the V50 in a time of 6.09
Amazingly at the end of the evening the male team are placed third and the female team are in fourth place.
