I would like to say a big thank you and well done to all the children that took part in the Sportshall competition this Sunday in Swanley.

Being able to field 2 Under 11 teams, 3 Under 13s and 2 Under 15s for the Sportshall competition in Swanley, we had our largest squad this season. All athletes performed well in their respective disciplines and have continued to improve throughout this season. Paddock Wood 1 finished 2nd in the Under 11s gaining our first Silver medal this season for this age group, along with a combined club (Bexley/Paddock Wood/Tonbridge/Swale) Under 13s Girls Gold medal and another combined club Gold medal for the Under 15 Girls.
William Hirst, Matthew Oakes, Maurice Roberts and Joe Stone (Paddock Wood 1) along with Jack King, Lucas Mounter, Leon Sherwin and Nico Walters (Paddock Wood 2) competed in the Under 11s.
Paddock Wood 1. William stepped up to team 1 coming joint 8th in Vertical Jump with 0.38m, Matthew came joint 1st in Vertical Jump with 0.50m, Maurice in his first Sportshall competition came 3rd in the Overhead Throw with 8.00m and 8th in Standing Triple Jump with 5.29m and Joe came 1st in Triple Jump with 6.21m.
Paddock Wood 2. Jack came 5th in the Overhead Throw with 7.50m, Lucas also in his first competition had a respectable Overhead Throw of 4.75m and managed 3.65m in his first attempt at Standing Triple Jump, Leon’s best event was Speed Bounce with 41 and Nico also has improved in Speed Bounce with 46. In the spirit of Sportshall I would like to give a special mention to both Leon and Nico for running for Swanley AC, thus, allowing Swanley to run in the team relays.
Lucy Tallon in the Under 13 girls, put in another solid performance in the 4 lap race coming in 1st and finishing 4th overall, along with a combined club Gold medal.
Jacob Kemmitt and Alex Stone both competed in the Under 13 Boys against strong opposition. Jacob came 4th in the 4 lap race and 6th overall. Alex came 2nd and 3rd in Shot Putt and the 4 lap race respectively, and gained a PB in the Shot Putt with 8.25m. This placed him 4th overall.
Kimberley Garcia in the Under 15 Girls came 2nd in Speed Bounce with 86 and 4th overall along with a combined club Gold medal.
Adam Garside in the Under 15 Boys continues to improve against strong opposition coming second in Shot Putt and the 4 lap race, placing him 3rd overall.
The next competition will be on the 25 February 2018, in Sittingbourne. I look forward to watching our athletes compete again in this final competition of the Sportshall season.
