On Sunday it was the first Sports Hall Competition of the season at St Johns Sports Centre. Tunbridge Wells. He club had Three full U/11 teams and one part team which combined with two more Athletes from Swale and Ashford. Plus several athletes in the older age groups.
In the U11 competition, Team 1 (Dillion Dew, Lucy Tallon, Joe Stone, Jessica Penny) came 2nd behind Folkestone by just one point and won Silver Medals. Dillon won the Speed Bounce with an impressive 60 bounces with Lucy jumping 48. . In the Standing Triple Jump Joe Stone jumped 5.35m and Jessica Penny 5.14m both excellent jumps. In team 2 (Chloe Excell, Oliver Ebsworth in his first Sportshall competition, Erin Clarke and Joshua Douglas) finished a fine 3rd. and took team Bronze. Chloe and Oliver both jumped 50 bounces in the Speed Bounce. In the Standing Triple Oliver jumped 5.38m to come 2nd. Chloe jumped 5.20m. Erin Clarke did well in the Vertical Jump with 40cm whilst Joshua jumped 38cm.
Team 3 consisted of 3 newbies to Sportshall Competition, they were Kiera Conrad Pickles, James Boni, and Hayden Philips finished a fine 5th, with Sportshall veteran Liam O Neil making sure they knew what to do. Liam came 2nd in the Speed bounce with 58. Hayden came2nd in the Ball push with 6m James Boni threw 4.75m. Little Kiera jumped 29cm in the Vertical jump.
Team 4 Grace Hughes 4 by Fergie Conway from Swale and Adie Teale from Ashford AC, they finished 4th as a combined team. Grace did well in the Ball Push with 5m. In the U13girls Mollie Dew and Poppy Jury performed well to finished 3rd in a combined team with Folkestone. Molly did well in the Speed Bounce with 79 bounces, whilst Poppy’s best event was the Vertical jump with 43cm.
In the U13 boys, PWAC had its first team in this competition for some years. Harvey Fordham, Alex Stone, Alex Gray and Aidan O Neil. They all performed well to finished 3rd team. With Harvey winning the Standing Long Jump in 2.26, to finish 3rd in the overall competition. Alex Gray also did well to finish 6th with a good Standing Long Jump of 1.98. Alex Stone was just 6 points being Alex Gray with his best event being the Speed Bounce 70 . Aiden O’Neil has a good 2 lap race where he finished 2nd in his heat (25.1s)
The U15 girls saw Lilly Ebsworth win the gold medal for the best overall performance in this age groups overall performance competing well in all her events and winning the 2 Lap race in 22.9 secs and the Vertical Jump with 57cm. Kimberly Garcia competed well finishing 3rd in the Standing long Jump with 1.98m.
U/17 Finn Hollyer finished 2nd in the U17B event having solid performances jumping 2.22m in the Standing Long Jump and bouncing 74 in the Speed Bounce..
