YDL Press Report – 13th June 2017

In the Youth Development league on the 28^th May at Mile End 3 athletes form the club combined with Ashford AC, Thanet AC and Invicta East Kent to form a combined Team ATIP. U17 Harry Mills jumped a PB in the High Jump 1.60m and then went on to jump another PB in the Long Jump 5.28m. Harry then decided to have a go at the 1500m Steeplechase. With a few tips from team manager Mick Duffin he completed the race in (5m 37s). U17 Samantha Hockey ran the U20 B 100m race in a PB time of (13.8s). In the long Jump Sam jumped another PB 4.14m then ran the 200m (29.4s). James O’Gorman completed the line-up for the club gaining a PB in the Shot 9.44m but had a disappointing throw in the Discus, his best event, 25.10m. The weather changed suddenly to heavy rain just as the discus event started. The combined team came 3^rd.
